METEORIT – automatic watch limited to 812 pieces with particles of the meteorite GB69-8

The new model “Meteorit” is a giant. With its diameter of 46 mm and its massive parts the watch seems to be able to withstand an asteroid impact. It is made of steel, sapphire crystal and real meteorite. From the meteorite GB69-8 from the “Gold Basin” 812 watches were built. The dial is specially designed to look like the stylized relief of the crash site. Through the partly broken dial it is possible to see the movement working. Above the impact two radar antennas rotate as second and 24h hands. The solid cases consist of ten 316L steel parts with PVD ion-plated multi-color bezels.

The watch has a size of 46 x 12.9 mm. The decorative parts as well as the lugs are screwed in with decorative screws. The bottom is screwed on and decorated with the engraved geodata of the meteorite. A glass window allows the view of the balance. The black, white, blue or green dials show the relief of the crash site. The dial is broken into circular segments and makes the movement visible. A large double index filled with Superluminova is placed at 12 o’clock. At 6 o’clock the meteorite particles are framed. The meteorite GB69-8 originates from the Gold Basin, Mohave County, Arizona, USA and struck about 14.3 million years ago at 35° 52' 30 “N, 114°14' 0 “W. The stone is a L4 Olivine Hypersthene Chondrite Fa24 Pyroxene Fs20 Wo1 and was found on 24 November 1995. The authenticity of the meteorite was checked and confirmed in May 2017 by METEOLAB (New England Meteoritical Service) in Mendon USA.

The hour and minute hands are skeletonized and filled at the tips with luminous material (Superluminova). Two antennas with Superluminova filled circular tips rotate as 24 hour hand and second hand. The movement beats with 21,600 A/H (3 HZ) and is mounted on 21 rubies. The power reserve after full winding is > 40 hours without further kinetic energy supply. Depending on model, the rotor and the movement are gold-plated. The watch crystal is made of sapphire. The water resistance is 5 ATM. The leather strap in black, brown or blue is thickly padded, embossed and mounted and adapted to the shape of the case. The watch is delivered in a big dark green box with a certificate card, a 16-page booklet with detailed description and a polishing cloth.

Kronsegler Germany

Kronsegler GmbH - an owner-managed Saxon company - has been developing and making watches of its own brand Kronsegler and other brands in commissioned productions in Germany since 2003. In 15 years, more than 50 own watch lines with around 300 models were created. Every year 4 - 6 new watch lines are presented, which are protected by registered designs or utility models. Mainly historical, astronomical-mathematical or philosophical themes are implemented in watch designs and functional innovations.

Kronsegler Germany

The focus of the Kronsegler brand is on innovative, affordable watches in the range of USD 200 to 700, in the top segment of mechanical watches up to just under USD 1300. The company only uses Japanese or Swiss base movements. The development of a proprietary module caliber based on Swiss components was completed in 2009. The fundamental renunciation of Chinese movements and finished watches ensures a clear differentiation from cheap and low-budget productions.
